WHO AM I?

MORE ABOUT ME

I was born in Granada, a city dedicated to tourism, so it seemed natural I would end up working in this industry. Over the years I have worked across many aspects of this business; from restaurants, hotels, airport and tourist offices, to PCOs, event companies, opened my own agency and recently freelancing, all these among Spain, the UK and the US mainly.

Proud to say I have never had a dull moment in my life, I endeavour to learn something from every experience and when Im offered an opportunity outside of my confort zone, Im quick to take it.

As soon as I turned 18, I got my first job, saved money and moved to Manchester in the UK.  After some waitressing work and several English lessons, I realised my future was not there so I decided to move back to Spain where I earned a degree in Tourism at University of Granada. I took various hospitality-related jobs to be able to pay for my travels until I had completed University. Then I was offered a bigger challenge; an internship at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa in South Carolina. I spent 2 years learning all aspects of the hotel environment and awarded with “5 spirits to serve”. Once my visa expired, I came back to Madrid to do a Master´s degree in Event Management at IEDE Business School.

.

Upon graduating,  I worked for a couple of event companies, a PCO in Granada and one of the best event production companies in Madrid until events by tlc (now Voqin) offered me a position. I started in 2012 as a Project Assistant and worked my way up to Head of Delivery in less than 3 years. I was then directing a team of three people and managing all of the group operations in Spain.

After 5 years in the Company I took the step and I opened the DMC emotivents along with Lucy Brown, we enjoyed every part of the entrepeneurship, the long hours didnt matter as we were confirming amazing events, attending the top industry events and felt very proud of ourselves. At that time as well clients started to ask me to help them with their onsite operations for some big events and so we implemented this as an additional service to emotivents. Late 2018 my life changed forever, Baby Bruno arrived and needed more attention than any 6 figures event ever…It was then at the beginning of 2019 when I decided to distribute my time among freelance event projects and part time mummy. Lastly, March 2020 is the month where things changed, covid19 made the world stop and I decided to join Helmsbriscoe to brush up my sales skills and bring back my hotel expertise, determined to make a difference within the Company.

I’ve lived in Madrid for 10 years, I recently moved to Huesca, small city between Madrid and Barcelona, hometown of my husband, and I reside here with him, my beautiful Bruno and my adorable french bulldog, Mambo. When Im not planning fabulous events, you can find me indulging in my adrenaline-fuelled passions such as skiing, roller skating or anything else that push me to the limits!
